A focused campus experience built around learning, exposure and outcomes
Child Rights and You (CRY) is one of India's most respected child rights organizations, founded in 1979 with the vision of creating a world where every child is empowered to realize their full potential. Guided by the belief that every child has the fundamental right to survive, learn, grow, participate, and live with dignity, CRY has spent over four decades working to ensure that children across India receive access to quality education, healthcare, nutrition, protection, and opportunities for holistic development.
Headquartered in New Delhi with a nationwide presence, CRY collaborates with grassroots organizations, local communities, educational institutions, healthcare providers, government agencies, corporate partners, and volunteers to address the root causes of child rights violations rather than merely treating their symptoms. Its community-driven development model focuses on building sustainable ecosystems where children can thrive in safe, healthy, and nurturing environments.
CRY's work spans a wide range of social development initiatives, including ensuring universal access to quality education, reducing school dropout rates, promoting early childhood care, improving maternal and child healthcare, combating malnutrition, preventing child labour and child marriage, protecting children from abuse and exploitation, strengthening child protection systems, and empowering adolescents through life skills and leadership development. The organization also advocates for inclusive education, gender equality, disability inclusion, digital literacy, and equitable access to government welfare schemes.
Through evidence-based advocacy, public awareness campaigns, policy engagement, capacity building, and community mobilization, CRY works to create long-term systemic change. Instead of operating as a direct service provider alone, the organization empowers local communities to become active stakeholders in protecting children's rights, ensuring that sustainable impact continues long after individual projects conclude.
Over the years, CRY has positively impacted the lives of millions of children across thousands of villages and urban communities throughout India. Its interventions have helped increase school enrollment and retention, improve immunization coverage, strengthen nutrition programs, reduce instances of child labour and child marriage, enhance access to healthcare services, and build safer environments where children can grow with confidence and dignity.
The Delhi office serves as a strategic hub for programme management, partnerships, fundraising, volunteer engagement, research, advocacy, communications, and policy initiatives. It works closely with educational institutions, civil society organizations, government departments, CSR partners, philanthropists, and individual supporters to expand the organization's reach and maximize social impact.
Transparency, accountability, and responsible governance remain central to CRY's operations. The organization regularly publishes impact reports, financial statements, and programme updates, while complying with statutory regulations including registrations under the Income Tax Act and FCRA, enabling individuals and corporate organizations to contribute confidently toward meaningful social change.
Today, CRY continues to inspire thousands of volunteers, donors, educators, youth leaders, and changemakers to join its mission of building an India where every child enjoys a safe childhood, quality education, good health, equal opportunities, and the freedom to dream, learn, and succeed. Through collective action, innovation, and community participation, CRY remains committed to creating lasting, measurable, and transformative impact for generations to come.
